Hyderabad: Man dupes hundreds promising MNC jobs

Accused sexually exploited women, recorded video.

Hyderabad: A 35-year-old man hailing from Andhra Pradesh who duped hundreds of unemployed youth by collecting money under the pretext of providing jobs at multi-national companies was nabbed by the Malkajgiri Special Operations Team, after two years.

The probe by the team revealed that Shaik Mastanwali alias Munna was reportedly involved in sexual exploitation of innocent women who worked at his office as tele-callers. He also recorded his acts using hidden cameras and used the videos to get rid of them when they pressurised him to offer them better jobs.

Munna, a native of Guntur, came to the city in 2007, and completed his graduation from Mahbub College, Secu-nderabad. He worked as a sales executive for five years, until he met Santoshi, Navaneetha, and Ravi who were running placement consultancies.

In 2012, Munna partnered with them and started a call centre at Begumpet and Vidya-nagar. He recruited several unemployed youngsters as tele-callers and trapped them with the promise of providing jobs at MNCs using his contacts and collected money. However, he cheated them.

“For four years, Munna continued to cheat job aspirants.Whenever they demanded their money back, he threatened that he would lodge complaints against them for misbehaviour with his staff. Worried about cases, several youngsters remained tight-lipped,” said Malkajgiri DCP Ch. R. Umamah-eswara Sarma on Wednesday.

Three complaints were received at the Malkaj-giri police station in which youths accused Munna of cheating them. The accused was traced to his native place and has been nabbed, said the DCP.

Another official said, “Munna trapped several women and exploited them sexually and recorded the act to threaten the victims. Evidence in support with that has been recovered from him. However, no formal complaints have been received.”
