Pushpa Yagam performed at Govindraja Swamy temple
TIRUPATI: The annual Pushpayaga Mahotsavam taken up by the TTD in the ancient temple of Lord Govindaraja Swamy in Tirupati enthralled the devotees on Monday.
The processional idols of Lord Govindaraja Swamy, accompanied by his consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi, were offered special floral bath - Pushpa Yagam, which lasted nearly four hours amidst the chanting of vedic verses from scriptures by the temple priests.
Earlier during the day, Snapana Tirumanjanam was rendered to the deities. In the afternoon, Pushpa Yagam commenced on a grand note.
As part of this special fete, the deities were seated on a special platform and floral tributes were rendered with tonnes of varieties of flowers, sacred leaves comprising both traditional and ornamental.
The entire fete was a cynosure to the devotees who thronged to witness the significant charm of the deities in this unique festival.
TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal, CVSO Gopinath Jatti, Special Grade DyEO Varalakshmi and others were present.
