Provide good governance instead of attacks: Kodela Siva Prasada Rao

On several issues, industrialists have not been showing interest to invest money in the state, to avoid any trouble in future.

VIJAYAWADA: Former Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao slammed AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for failing to live up to the expectations of the people, during this brief period of governance, and turned critical on him for targeting TD supporters and their party leader N. Chandrababu Naidu, instead of paying attention to provide good governance in the state.

The former Speaker said at Guntur on Monday that even as the people in the state had given a landslide majority by electing 22 MPs out of total 25 MPs, the YSR Congress failed to prevail upon the Centre to get Special Category Status to AP and also funds for construction of Polavaram Irrigation project, Capital City Amaravati and other major projects in the recently presented Budget by the BJP led NDA regime.

He alleged that with the proposed review of Power Purchase Agreements of previous TD regime, the state has been witnessing several hours of power cut of late and said that as the State Government is intending to review the agreements of the previous TD regime, on several issues, industrialists have not been showing interest to invest money in the state, to avoid any trouble in future.

He said that implementation of CM’s Relief Fund and Health Scheme of Arogya Sri were put on hold, causing hardships to the commoners and added that with severe shortage of availability of sand in the state, construction industry has been witnessing its impact and with no works going on, the labourers have been finding it difficult to earn money and support their families.

Referring to dismantling of Praja Vedika, the former Speaker opined that by doing so, the YSR Congress Government has invited the wrath of the general public and found fault with the State Government for paying more attention on former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s house at Undavalli, instead of concentrating on looking after the problems of the people in the state. He alleged that conduct of State Assembly sessions is also not proper and flayed the YSR Congress regime for paying more attention to target former CM Naidu in the sessions.

He said that with no water being released from Pattiseema Lift Scheme to Krishna delta region, the farmers have not taken up cultivation of crops for Kharif season and alleged that the farmers have been facing hardships to procure seeds as the State Government does not have proper planning on distribution of seeds to the farmers.

Maintaining that he would be loyal to Telugu Desam, until his last breath, Mr Siva Prasada Rao alleged that his family members were being implicated in false cases to trouble them and asked the State Government to order an inquiry and punish them if found to be guilty. On several TD leaders, switching loyalty to BJP, he said that the BJP has been playing a mind game and turned critical on its leaders for making statements that they would send Mr Naidu to jail for his acts of commission and omission.
