People to get pensions at their doorsteps: Jagan Mohan Reddy
Kadapa: From September this year, pensioners in the state will get their pension amounts directly at homes. The Village or Ward volunteers concerned will come to your house and hand over the pension amount, said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at a public meeting held at Jamma-lamadugu on Monday.
He arrived in Kadapa by a special flight by 8 am. Later, Mr Reddy went to Idupulapaya in a helicopter to pay tributes to his father and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy on his 70th birth anniversary. The day has been celebrated as the Farmers’ Day across the state.
As part of the celebrations, he launched welfare schemes from YSR Kadapa district. On Mon-day, he launched the YSR Pension Scheme, thereby rolling out the Navar-atna Welfare Scheme.
He said `15,676 crores has been allotted under the Pension Scheme which is almost double the amount which the last government paid.
He handed over a che-que of Rs 7 lakh to Rama-subbamma, a widow of a farmer from Mudaanur mandal who committed suicide in 2015.
He said every farmer will get Rs 12,500 under YSR Rythu Bharosa Scheme on October 15, ahead of the Rabi season, besides paying premium for the crop insurance and facilitating zero per cent loans to farmers.
He also gave away the enhanced old age pensions of `2,250.
