Hyderabad: Bus carrying 10 techies caught fire

The police, who are awaiting for a complaint to take up the investigation, said that everyone including the driver, E. Eashwar, were safe.

Hyderabad: Ten software professionals, who were on their way to Gachibowli on Monday morning, escaped unhurt after the bus they were travelling in caught fire near the Kokapet village on the Outer Ring Road. The incident occured under the Narsingi PS limits.

The police, who are awaiting for a complaint to take up the investigation, said that everyone including the driver, E. Eashwar, were safe.

Narsingi sub-inspector R. Laxman said that the bus, which belongs to Sarvabhoma Travels, was heading to DLF from Vanasthalipuram on Monday morning.

When the bus reached the outskirts of Kokapet village on the ORR, the driver, who noticed the smoke emulsion, pulled the vehicle aside before alerting the passengers for evacuation. The bus immediately caught blazes and got gutted, said the SI.

He said that fire tenders were alerted and the blazes were doused off. None of the 11 persons received any injuries.
