Nirmal: It came to light on Sunday that Basar IIIT assistant professor Ravi Varala, who is facing charges of sexually exploiting girl students, used to collect the menstruation dates of the girl students with whom he was in contact.
He used these dates to exploit some of the girls who had fallen in his trap. This became known when police was examining a Whatsapp chat between Ravi and one of his victims.
The exploitation came to light when a woman warden suspected something fishy after going through the WhatsApp chat of the girl. He used to take some girls in his car for outings. When he was caught by a security person, Ravi is said to have threatened him.
Meanwhile, the Legal Services Authority (Lok Adalat), Adilabad, has issued notices to Nirmal SP, Bhainsa DSP, Mudhole CI and the director and vice- Chancellor of IIIT-Basar and asked them to appear on July 15.
Earlier in the day, minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy inspected the IIIT and inquired about the incident and interacted with the girl students.
