Massive search on for Hyderabad girl Poornima Sai

The police has also communicated to all districts in the two states to inform them if they recover any unidentified teenager girl's body.

Hyderabad: More than a month after Poornima Sai, a class X student went missing from Bachupally, police are still clueless about her whereabouts.

While her parents continue to remain worried sick about her safety, police has launched a massive search enlisting the help of 18 teams, in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The police has also communicated to all districts in the two states to inform them if they recover any unidentified teenager girl’s body.

Poornima Sai a student of Bhashyam school, had left home for school on June 7 in her school uniform, but didn’t reach the school.

Immediately after she went missing, police teams combed the public places, parks, bus stations and railway stations in the city and the outskirts, but there was absolutely no trace of the girl. The only thing the police got was some CCTV coverage where she was last seen on Nizampet X road.

“After that she was not spotted in the cameras. It is not still clear where she could go from Nizampet or in which direction. If we get any single clue, we can trace the girl. Teams from Bachupally police station are still working on tracking the girl,” ACP Kukatpally N. Bhujanga Rao said.

The police has ruled out any chances of Poornima Sai having run away from home with some boy. She did have some issues at home though. After speaking to her parents, the police arrived at the conclusion that the girl used to feel insecure about her parents giving more attention to her younger sister.

Before going missing, she had informed her friends through whatsapp that she was depressed because her school had reopened much before other schools. “She was a bold student and we don't think her depression will lead to her taking any extreme step,” said a teacher from the school.

Meanwhile, her parents are praying for her safety and want her to come back home safe and sound. As a relative said, “We can understand what forced her to leave the house. But we just want her to come back and be happy at home.”
