Action against those disturbing peace: Siddaramaiah on Dakshina Kannada unrest

He accused BJP of fomenting communal harmony to increase its influence in the coastal region.

Bengaluru: Taking serious note of disturbances in coastal district of Dakshina Kannada, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah warned that strict action will be taken against those disturbing peace and tranquility.

While interacting with reporters here, he said, “Let the miscreants belong to any community, those who try to disturb peace and communal harmony will be dealt with an iron hand. I have asked the police to deal strictly with the miscreants and arrest the culprits responsible for death of a youth in Bantwal.”

Strongly condemning those who took law into their own hands, Siddaramaiah said he has discussed the issue with senior police officers in Dakshina Kannada on Friday and now the situation is under control.

He accused BJP of fomenting communal harmony to increase its influence in the coastal region. He said BJP's tricks will not work in coastal region anymore.
"BJP leaders have not opened their mouth before the Prime Minister Narendra Modi when I pleaded him to waive farmers loan availed from nationalized banks. But after we waived off the loans, the BJP now has no issues to take up and hence it is stoking communal tension in Dakshina Kannada," the Chief Minister said.

Along with B.S. Yeddyurappa, many BJP leaders and former ministers went to jail. With support of same tainted leaders, Yeddyurappa now wants to become the Chief Minister, he said sarcastically.

BJP and RSS are behind in communal tension in coastal district, but innocent people are dying. The Government will not spare any community leaders who spread communal disharmony, the Chief Minister warned.
