Hyderabad High Court summons 2 officers over college road

The bench had earlier directed the authorities to place the details of the case.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday directed the vice-chairman and managing director of the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority and commissioner of the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation to appear before it on July 13 to explain why they had allowed a road to be laid in the premises of the Kakatiya Government Degree College in Hanamkonda.

A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice P. Naveen Rao was dealing with a PIL by Mr P. Dinakar, a student, challenging the action of the authorities in allowing the road on the college premises.

The bench had earlier directed the authorities to place the details of the case. The petitioner submitted that the decision to lay the road in the college premises would not only disturb peace but also adversely affect its chances of getting UGC funding.
