Anantapur: YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy lashed out at Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for “cheating the people in the name of false promises and opening the gates for largescale corruption at all levels.” Referring to “two-and-a-half-year-old false promises”, none of them was fulfilled by the state government, Mr Reddy alleged that Mr Naidu was just taking people for a ride.
“Mr Naidu can promise anything to cheat people. He can even promise for next elections that his government would give a car or an aircraft to every family in the state,” the YSRC leader said.
Launching the Gadapa Gadapaku YSRC programme at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district on Friday, Mr Reddy alleged that the TD government was involved in corruption to the tune of Rs 1.45 lakh crore.
Mr Reddy who was accompanied by his mother Y.S. Vijayalakshmi, wife Y.S. Bharathi, sister Sharmila and other family members, paid floral tributes at the ghat of his father, late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy on his 67th birth anniversary. The party programme in involves circulation of a questionnaire with 100 posers commenced after the ceremony.
The party prepared the questionnaire on the alleged fake promises made by Mr Naidu and the corruption during the the TD government tenure. “The people would rate the Naidu government’s performance by answering 100 questions given as part of the Gadapa Gadapaku programme. We shall see how many marks the people will give Naidu out of 100,” he said.
Recalling that Mr Naidu had promised waiver of agriculture loans unconditionally, Mr Reddy said nothing had happened on that front. “I will visit every town as part of the Gadapa gadapaku programme. MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy would take Gadapa gadapaku programme to every house in Pulivendula,” he said.
