Telangana BC students union want fee reimbursed

HYDERABAD: Telangana Backward Classes Student Union criticised the BRS government for reportedly failing to release ₹5,000 crore fee reimbursement dues, and using the money for Telangana state formation celebrations.

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had assured a government job for each household after the formation of Telangana state but has failed to give even one job for each village, the association leaders said.

Ahead of the students' unions meeting on June 10, a preparatory meeting was conducted at the Osmania University Arts College here on Thursday. Speaking at the meeting, BC Students state general secretary Vemula Ramakrishna said that BC welfare association national president R. Krishnaiah will attend as chief guest on June 10.

Ramakrishna said that statehood was achieved after the sacrifices of 1,200 students but after the state was created the BRS destroyed the education sector. The BRS government had spent crores to construct the Secretariat, collectorates and camp offices for the CM and MLAs but had failed to construct welfare hostels.

BRS leaders owned the majority of private educational institutions in the state and had made education a business, Ramakrishna alleged.

Student union leaders N.M. Srikanth Yadav, Sumanth, Kranthi, Katta Harish, Ramdev Munna, Upender, Pradeep, Ramu, Charan, Vamsi, Praveen and others were present.
