Rajya Sabha seat: KPCC secretary K Jayanth quits post in protest

He further said that Congress party will lose its fame and popularity if there is no review on the current decision.

KOZHIKODE: Adv. K Jayanth has resigned from his post as secretary of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee in protest against the Congress decision to have Kerala Congress (M) to contest in Rajya Sabha elections. "I have been with the party for 30 years and this resignation is my reply to the decision of the party regarding the Rajya Sabha seat issue," said Adv. K Jayanth in a press meet held here on Friday. He further said that Congress party will lose its fame and popularity if there is no review on the current decision.

"K.M. Mani's entry into the Front is to degrade the policies of Congress and by giving a seat to his party member for the Rajya Sabha election, the Congress has disheartened a major share of their supporters," said Jayanth. According to Jayanth the decision of the party gives way for suspicion and he will not return to the leader's row as he cannot justify and defend such policies of the party.
