THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Aluva DySP K.B. Prabhulla Chandran and Kottayam DySP Shajimon Joseph are among the 20 DySPs transferred by the on Friday. According to police sources, the transfers were purely general transfers and there have not been any sort of punitive action. Prabhulla Chandran was shifted to special branch CID in Kochi city and Shajimon to special branch CID in Idukki.
Prabhulla Chandran was under scanner in connection with the custodial death of Sreejith at Varappuzha police station. The Edathala police station, where a youth was manhandled other day, was also under him. Shajimon Joseph’s transfer assumes significance in view of the recent death of Kevin P. Joseph allegedly following lapses at the Gandhi Nagar police station in Kottayam. The government also mutually transferred SP traffic north Johnkutty K.L. and SP traffic south K.K. Markose.
