Hyderabad: Worker held for killing wife, son
Hyderabad: An engineering dropout from Bihar who is said to have killed his wife and two-year-old son, suspecting her fidelity, was arrested by Vanasthalipuram police on Wednesday.
According to sources, G. Kavitha alias Saba, 25, and Abid Alam, 27, married about three years ago. They were in love for over an year before they got married and despite their parents objection started living in a rented room at Indranagar Colony in Vanasthalipuram.
“Abid, an engineering dropout was working as a labourer, while Kavitha was taking care of the house. The couple was blessed with a baby boy. Though it was a love marriage, Abid began to suspect his wife’s fidelity. On April 28, he smothered her with a towel and then killed her by strangulating her. Then, he killed his son Irfan and dumped their bodies in a water drum, before fleeing,” Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat told the mediapersons on Wednesday.
During the investigation to find Abid, police officials apprehended him near Medchal and recorded his confession statement.
He was remanded to judicial custody on Wednesday, said the commissioner.
