The same memorandum, which was submitted to the CEO, was handed over to Chief Election Commi-ssioner Sunil Arora by Mr Sravan.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee on Wednesday complained to Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora on the MLC elections under local authorities category and demanded the cancellation of the poll notification.

On Wednesday, AICC spokesperson Dasoju Sravan met the Chief Election Commissioner in New Delhi and submitted a memorandum to this effect.
Speaking to media persons later, Mr Sravan said that they have demanded the cancellation of the election notification issued for three MLC seats in the local bodies quota.

Mr Sravan said that the Chief Election Commissioner has assured him that all issues that the TPCC has raised in the memorandum would be considered by the Election Commission and an appropriate decision would taken.

Mr Sravan questioned the rationale behind issuing of the election schedule in the night and accepting the nominations from the candidates from next day morning itself.

The Congress leader also said that the election notification should cancelled forthwith and newly elected ZPTC and MPTC members should be allowed to vote in the MLC elections as it is their right.

Similarly, TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and other opposition leaders have submitted a memorandum to the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar on Tuesday on MLC elections.

The same memorandum, which was submitted to the CEO, was handed over to Chief Election Commi-ssioner Sunil Arora by Mr Sravan.
