KANNUR: A day after reports came that students were forced to remove their innerwear at an exam centre in Kannur, more students came out with harrowing experiences. At Malabar Public School near Chakkarakkal, the girl students faced rough frisking by staff and the sleeves were cut off causing mental agony minutes before the exam.
“Though the sleeves were just few inches longer, the invigilators insist on cutting them off. My niece started crying after one sleeve was cut off and after seeing it, they decided not to cut the other sleeve. She wrote exam with one sleeve cut," described Akhilesh Kumar, a native of Maloor. "Criminals are getting better treatment in prisons and our children faced inhuman treatment from the so-called teachers," he added.
“My pants were slightly dark and they made my father to run for another pair," asked Nitha (name changed), a candidate. “How can we go and search for shop at the last minute of exam on a Sunday at a remote exam venue?”
Parents are immensely thanking the local residents for their support during the tough time. “People from nearby houses gathered there and after seeing our plight of searching for new dresses, they bought dress from their homes and gave us. However the staff even tore those dresses," added Rajesh Nambiar, a parent whose daughter wrote exam at TISK English Medium School, Kunhimangalam.
