Kakinada: 2-day holiday for polling centres

The state government had already declared April 11 as a holiday.

KAKINADA: District collector Karthikeya Misra on Monday said that holidays would be given to all government offices, polling centres, educational institutions, counting centres, distribution centres and others that have been allotted for elections on April 10 and 11.

The district collector said that educational institutions would be closed on May 23, the day of counting of votes.

In a release, Mr Misra said that in view of polling day, on April 11, has been announced as paid holiday under Section 135B (1) of the People’s Representatives Act 1951.

The state government had already declared April 11 as a holiday.
