Hyderabad: 8 children go missing from Rehabilitaion centre

In the complaint, the warden alleged that the children left the house by breaking iron grills.

Hyderabad: Upset after being accused of stealing some iron material, eight children, all between the ages of 13 and 18, escaped from a rehabilitation centre at Uppal on Monday.

Registering a case, the Uppal police, who said the children left the centre without informing anyone after breakfast, have formed a team to trace the children.

The warden of the Don Bosco Navajeevan Rehabilitaion Centre for Street Children, which is located at Pragati Nagar in Ramanthapur, was first to notice the kids were missing during lunchtime and lodged a complaint.

In the complaint, the warden alleged that the children left the house by breaking iron grills.

Uppal inspector P. Venkateshwarlu said “It is found that the children were accused by the warden of stealing iron material from the centre and selling them for money. Reportedly upset with that, they have left the home. A team is working on the clues to trace the children.”
