Hyderabad: An inebriated woman created a nuisance and attacked media persons at a drunk driving check post in Jubilee Hills on Saturday night.
According to traffic officials, the woman got angry when videographers tried to record a video of her despite the fact that she was not driving.
The woman was travelling with a man named Avinash in a Swift Desire near Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan. Mr Avinash was found to have a blood alcohol content of 140 mg. A case was booked against him for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Mohammad Majeed, the SHO of Gopalpuram, who was conducting the checks, told this paper, “The lady was angry because the videographers were taking videos of her even though she had not been driving. The videographers shouldn’t have focused on her.”
He added that the man who was with her initially refused to share his details, but upon the police’s insistence, he revealed that his name was Avinash. “We booked a case against him. They both left the spot in a cab. The lady was arguing with us and was throwing stones at the media persons and videographers who were trying to take pictures and videos of her.”
