Moderate rain in Telangana from April 13
Hyderabad: With the Indian Meteorological Department forecasting thunderstorms from April 13, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh can expect some relief from the scorching heat.
Moderate rains and thunderstorms are forecasted for a couple of days in Telangana and coastal Andhra. However, there will be no serious dip in the day temperatures. IMD predicted heat wave conditions at isolated places of Telangana on April 9 and 10.
The weather forecast up to April 12 is of partly cloudy skies towards afternoons and evenings. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 42ºC and 25ºC respectively. From April 13 onwards, there will be cloudy skies with thunderstorms, but the temperatures will remain the same.
This month, Hyderabad recorded the highest temperature (41.4ºC) in the last six years. In 2010 April, the highest recorded was 42.7ºC. In the reco-rded history of the city, the maximum temperature was 43.3ºC in 1973.
“The thunderstorm acti-vity will be due to the change in wind directions. Southeasterly winds are responsible for thunder activities. It will include hailstorms, moderate rain, lightening and breeze,” said IMD assistant meteorologist M. Narasimha Rao.
