Viveka murder: \'Predetermined\' CBI trying to frame me, Kadapa MP tells HC

Hyderabad: Kadapa Lok Sabha member Y.S. Avinash Reddy on Thursday told the Telangana High Court that the CBI was taking his statements under Section 161 of the CrPC, in the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case without making audio and video recordings, despite his request.

Avinash Reddy urged the court to direct the CBI to follow the procedure while examining him, under CrPC Section 161 and to permit his advocate to be present during the examination. He also asked the court to direct the CBI not to take coercive steps against him pursuant to the notice issued under Section 160.

He sought directions to the CBI to produce a copy of the statements recorded by the investigating officer during his previous examination. Mentioning the recent counter affidavit of the CBI in the bail petitions filed by the accused in the murder case, Avinash Reddy submitted that the investigation has been taken in a direction to achieve a particular predetermined outcome by targeting certain individuals, including himself.

Avinash Reddy said that there was nothing on record to substantiate the allegation that he had plotted the murder. He said that they were twisting facts to frame him.
