Chennai: Just ahead of the beginning of another academic year, the Vellore Institute of Technology has entered the QS World University Ranking by Subject, for three individual subjects.
VIT had received ranks in three subjects in their first year – rank: 451-500 for computer science and information systems, rank: 451 – 500 for electrical and electronic engineering, and rank: 501 – 550 for Chemistry.
QS is an international ranking agency that takes ‘h’ index and citations of research publications as criteria for subject ranking, besides perception about the subject areas by academic and industry leaders. It helps scholars find the best institutions around the world for each individual subject.
The rating system provides a detailed look at each institution, enabling scholars to identify best universities in specific topics that you care about. In 2018, VIT was ranked 271-280 in Asia overall.
