Tirupati: IIIT-Sri City celebrated Women’s Day in a befitti-ng manner on Thursday at its campus in Chittoor district.
To celebrate the women in technology and empower women into technological fields, the students and staff organised a three-day programme, with a number of activities, that began on March 6 and culminated on March 8.
The programme began with TensorFlow development summit that brings together a diverse mix of machine learning users from around the world, delivering technical talks, demos, and conversation with the TensorFlow team and community. This year, IIIT Sri city was one of the watch party colleges for ‘TensorFlow summit 2019’, live streamed from California. Girl students participated in the event through interactions.
The event also incorporated a workshop on women in machine learning (WiML) to expose girl students on emerging trends in technology and applications. The main motto of the WiML session was to support and promote women who are practicing, studying or are interested in the fields of machine learning.
Dr Anupama, research scientist from IBM enlightened the students by sharing domain knowledge in Natural Language processing along with interesting demonstration of real world systems dealing with a large user base.
