Bengaluru: H D Kumaraswamy's new logic; Defeating BJP matters more than seats
Bengaluru: In an attempt to seal the seat-sharing pact with the alliance partner before Congress president Rahul Gandhi's visit to Karnataka to sound the poll bugle in Haveri on Saturday, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy arrived in New Delhi on Friday, pushing for more seats for JD (S) on grounds that both parties should join hands to decimate the BJP with victories in 20-24 of the 28 parliament seats.
The Chief Minister made known his intentions during a chat with the media in Delhi:"How many seats we will take, and how many seats Congress will take -- that is not important. What is important is how many seats we will win against the BJP. Our intention is to get minimum 22 to 24 seats (out of 28 Lok Sabha seats)." His party leaders have set their sights on Hassan, Mandya, Uttara Kannada, Vijayapura and Shivamogga in their list of ten constituencies. While Mr Kumaraswamy's son Nikhil Gowda would stand from Mandya, his nephew and minister H D Revanna's son Prajwal Revanna would enter the fray in Hassan, and Mr Deve Gowda, from either Bengaluru (North), Mysuru or Tumakuru constituencies.
