Kerala 'love jihad': Ashokan to move revision petition in Supreme Court

Kottayam: Ashokan, the father of Hadiya, said that the court had given directions to continue with the investigation by the National Investigation Agency ( NIA) since they may be convinced that Shefin Jahan was the husband of Hadiya. On Thursday however, he said that he would file a revision petition in the Supreme Court against the apex court reinstating the marriage of Hadiya.

Mr Ashokan said that the verdict rendered by the Supreme Court on Thursday was not a full verdict. The SC had only cancelled the High Court verdict which nullified the marriage between Hadiya and Shefin Jahan. “The Court said that the investigation in the case will be continued,” he said. Mr Ashokan said that any father was afraid to marry off his daughter to a terrorist.
