Hyderabad: After Vasavi inter hall tickets fiasco, officials cautious

The state education department is putting in place measures to make sure the incident does not repeat ahed of the upcoming SSC exams.

Hyderabad: In the wake of the Sri Vasavi College fiasco, in which students almost missed out on their intermediate exams due to alleged malpractices by the college management, the state education department is putting in place measures to make sure the incident does not repeat ahed of the upcoming SSC exams.

District education officers have been told to fire off notices to private schools whose applications for recognition are caught in different stages of approval.

Such schools have been told to take up immediate steps to fulfill certain requirements. The department has also identified nearly 130 such schools - including nearly 30 to 40 new ones.

The director of government examinations, R. Surender Reddy said hall-tickets will be issued to students from all these schools. He however, added that school managements have been told in no uncertain terms to comply with norms.

Most of the private schools that have permissions pending are from Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. In core city area, most of the schools are from Old City.

The government examinations wing has also decided to issue hall-tickets nearly a week in advance so that it can enough time to resolve hall ticket troubles, if any.
