Brahmani is my inspiration: Nara Lokesh

Nara Lokesh said he and his wife Brahmani hoped for a girl as their first child.

GUNTUR: Telugu Desam general secretary Nara Lokesh said he and his wife Brahmani hoped for a girl as their first child. Speaking at a programme organised to mark the International Women’s Day at the party central office in Guntur, he stressed for the girl’s education. Giving out his own life example, Mr Lokesh said Brahmani has continued her education for seven years after their marriage.

“Today Brahmani is looking after our business and family as she is able and qualified,” he said. Mr Lokesh even said that Brahmani gives him money for his daily expenses including the fuel expenses for his car. He also said that Brahmani was his guiding force in politics as well. Mr Lokesh appealed that parents should give their girl child better education instead of marrying them off at an early age. He also asserted that the TD government has been working for the empowerment of women and it will continue to do so in future. He attributed the success of self-help groups and household gas connections to his father and said women were given better representation after his father became the Chief Minister. Mr Lokesh celebrated the Women’s Day by cutting the cake in the party office. Minister Prattipati Pulla Rao and Guntur district leaders and TD women activists participated in the event.
