On Tuesday night, the city recorded 36. 8 mm rainfall.
Bengaluru: The city recorded the wettest March since 2007, when the combined rainfall on Monday and Tuesday touched 65 mm! In 2007 it was 59.8 mm, while the average rainfall in March is 18.5 mm.
On Tuesday night, the city recorded 36. 8 mm rainfall. Indian Meteorological Department Director-in-Charge Sundar M. Metri said, “The rain was due to upper air cyclonic circulation.”
IMD officials have ruled out any more heavy showers in the coming days. They said the sky will remain overcast for the next few days, but there will be only isolated showers.
The highest rainfall in March recorded in the city’s history was in 1981 (101.2 mm), while the highest rainfall per day in March was again in 1981 (March 28 - 61 mm).
