Personally handed son to cops, says AP minister Ravela
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh minister Ravela Kishore Babu on Tuesday claimed that he had personally handed over his son Susheel to the Banjara Hills police after he was booked in a molestation case.
Reacting to comments made by Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in the Assembly, the minister said that if any wrong was proved against his son, he was ready to face any action. Susheel is accused of molesting a teacher.
Mr Kishore Babu said that the teacher was like his daughter. “If my son is proven guilty in a woman harassment case, he will have to face the consequences. I myself will not pardon him if my son is found guilty,” the minister said.
He countered Mr Reddy’s comments by saying that the Opposition leader was the prime accused in the Paritala Ravindra murder case, but his father, former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, had got his name deleted from the case. “I will never do such a thing if my son is involved in a case,” the minister said.
Women’s quota must: Assembly
The AP Assembly on Tuesday marked International Women’s Day by passing a resolution unanimously requesting the Centre to bring an Act on 33 per cent reservations to women in legislative bodies.
Introducing the resolution, the CM said that the Central government should create history by getting the Women’s Reservation Bill passed.
