Hyderabad: E-challans to cover helmetless
Traffic cops are now using the e-challan system to penalise two-wheeler riders.
Hyderabad: Traffic cops are now using the e-challan system to penalise two-wheeler riders. The police took the decision after finding many riders were not wearing helmets.
Those who are photographed on CCTV cameras without helmets will get e-challans, police said. Traffic police will take pictures with their digital cameras of helmetless riders, who would be served with e-challans.
To tackle the problem of wrong addresses and registration name not being changed, Traffic DCP Hyderabad A.V. Ranganath said those who receive e-challan should approach the traffic cops and submit details of the person to whom they sold their vehicle. Motorists can also register their change of address on the transport department website.
