Air India operates all women crew flights to Delhi and Mumbai

Among the three flights that flew out of Chennai on Tuesday, two flights AI 440 & AI 143 went to Delhi and one AI 569 flew to Mumbai.

Chennai: As part of the Women’s Day celebrations, Air India operated three all women crew flights from Chennai to Delhi and Mumbai. Among the three flights that flew out of Chennai on Tuesday, two flights AI 440 & AI 143 went to Delhi and one AI 569 flew to Mumbai.

AI 440 to Delhi which flew out at 6:15 am was under the command of Captain Sonia Rani along with Co-Pilot Pankhuri Aggarwal and cabin crew of Mischelle Sebastian, Vijayanthi Upadhyay, Nahala Xavier, Shyja and Raiza.

Sonia Rani said, “ I feel truly blessed to be part of this flight. Considering that today it is Women’s Day it makes it all the more special. This has always been my dream and only when you dream can that dream come true.” Passengers too were pleasantly surprised when they were informed that they would be flying with an all women crew and expressed their happiness at this initiative.

While the other flight to Delhi from Chennai, AI 143, was under the command of Captain Deepa and Capt K. Bipeena was the Co-Pilot. Meanwhile, the flight to Mumbai which flew out at 6:20 am was commanded by Captain Veda and had Captain Ramya as Co-Pilot

Today, out of the total all-women flights operated in the domestic sector, three flights were from Delhi, eight flights in Mumbai, seven in Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad; and one from Kolkata.
