TTD gears up for two fetes this month

The annual fete will be conducted for seven days from February 13 to February 19 by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).

TIRUPATI: Preparations for Teppotsavam, the annual float festival, to be held in Govindaraja Swamy's temple tank on February 13, are in full swing in the temple city of Tirupati.

During the festival, the processional deities Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy on February 13, Sri Parthasaradhi Swamy on February 14, Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy on February 15, Sri Krishna Swamy and Andalamma on February 16, Sri Govindaraja Swamy on February 17 to February 19 will be taken out to procession in Pushkarini in the evenings.

On the occasion, special programmes such as bhajans and Annamaiah sankeerthanas will be performed by TTDs Dharma Prachara Parishad, Annamacharya project.

Following the religious fest, TTD will organise the nine-day annual Brahmotsavams at the temple of Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy at Srinivasa Mangapuram from February 24 to March 4, with Ankurar-panam on February 23.

The important days of the occasion include, Dhwajarohanam in Kum-bha Lagnam on February 24, Garuda Seva on February 28, Swarna Ratham on March 1 and Chakrasnanam on March 4. TTD has cancelled all arjitha sevas in the temple during the Navahnika Brahmotsavams.
