Telugu Desam MLA 'Kidari Sarveswara Rao' killer arrested by Odisha police
Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Koraput police on Friday arrested one Dambaru Khila, a hardcore Maoist militia of Nandapur area in connection with the murder of Telugu Desam MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao of Araku Assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh and Siveri Soma, former MLA of the same constituency.
Police sources said Dambaru will be handed over the National Investigation Agency which is investigating the double murder.
In December last year, the NIA began the probe into the murder of Kidari Sarveswara Rao and Siveri Soma.
According to sources, NIA officials had filed an FIR in a Vijayawada court for the investigation due to the importance of the case as the incident had taken place close to the Andhra-Odisha Border and several alleged lapses had come for debate.
Kidari Saveswara Rao and Siveri Soma were murdered at Livitiputu village in Dumbriguda mandal in Visakha agency on September 23, 2018 while they were going to a interior village to meet the people.
A large number of Maoists, including plainclothes persons, had surrounded the vehicles and killed them
