Narendra Modi breached trust of AP on promises, says N Chandrababu Naidu

CM lists out schemes in House, to go to polls on development plank.

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu claimed in the Assembly that only the Telugu Desam was going into elections by explaining their developmental works and schemes and further with a vision document for the State’s development.

The AP Assembly adjourned sine die after passing several bills including vote on account Budget on Friday. The AP Assembly gave a standing ovation to Mr Naidu after the conclusion of his speech.

Addressing the Assembly, Mr Naidu said that no State and no political party was going to the polls with vision documents and with the progress report in India. He said that the TD would prepare its election manifesto on the basis of the vision document and appealed to people to bless the TD again in the elections.

While criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly, Mr Naidu said that the PM had breached the trust of AP about fulfilling bifurcation assurances including SCS. He said, “Mr Modi applied salt on the wound of AP State and was enjoying seeing the difficulties of our State.”

He claimed that the TD government fulfilled 295 poll promises and further fulfilled others which were not promised during the elections. He said that '5,000 crore was allotted to Annadata Suhkibhava scheme and the government further spent '21,000 crore for Pasupu Kumkuma scheme to benefit 95 lakh women in 13 districts of AP State. He also reeled out about the increase of social security pensions, free dialysis to kidney patients, free 100 units of power to SC and ST communities, 5 per cent reservations in BC quota to Kapu community and other welfare schemes.

Mr Naidu claimed that the BJP government did not cooperate to construct the Polavaram project. However, the TD government had completed 65 per cent construction works and had announced that water would be released through gravity by June this year.

He further claimed that works on the new capital, Amaravati, were in full swing and stated that the TD government got 670 awards for their efficient works. He said that AP’s GSDP was '9.40,000 crore and targetted to reach '23,30,000 crore by the year 2024

He said that TD was aiming to provide Rs 25,000 income per month to every family in the 13 districts of AP in the coming five years.

He added that employment was provided to 10,15,250 persons in the past four and a half years adding that another 3,35,000 jobs were provided through small scale industries.
