Hyderabad: Technology to safeguard forest wealth

Hyderabad: The Telangana Forest Protection Technical Advisory Committee on Friday met at Aranya Bhavan and decided to use technology to safeguard forest wealth.

A meeting chaired by Dr Devendra Pandey, former director-general of the Forest Survey of India, has decided to take help from the geoinformatics department and NRSA, besides forest department officials.

He said there was an immediate requirement to upgrade existing technology.

Mr Panday said it has already geo-mapped Bhupalapally and Kothagudem forest areas, which will receive satellite images immediately after the fire accident.
