Hyderabad: Land acquisition for keshavpuram to be sped up

Meanwhile, HMWSSB has to acquire 1,572 hectares for the Keshavapuram reservoir.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board managing director Mr M. Dana Kishore has instructed officials to expedite the 10 TMC Keshavpuram project works.

He asked officials to speed up land acquisition work and start construction of intake pipeline works at Kondapochamma Sagar (Pamulaparthy) reservoir.

He said a raw water gravity pipeline of 3,600 mm diameter will be laid from Kondapochamma Sagar to the Keshavpuram reservoir.

Mr Kishore said the project involves formation of an earthen bund at Keshavpuram, construction of concrete block consisting of spill way, intake structures, raw water filling arrangement from Kondapochamma Sagar reservoir, scour sluice structure, inlet and outlet sluice arrangements and service roads on top and around the bund.

He said raw water drawal arrangements from Keshavpuram reservoir to the water treatment plant will be made, besides construction of a 750 MLD capacity WTP at Bommarasipeta.

Mr Kishore said the plan also includes construction of clear water reservoir, pump house and electro-mechanical equipment at Bommarasipeta WTP.

He said pumping mains of 3,000 mm diameter will be laid from WTP at Bommarasipeta to the proposed Master Balancing Reservoir (MBR) at Ghanpur.

Meanwhile, HMWSSB has to acquire 1,572 hectares for the Keshavapuram reservoir.

A large chunk of this, about 1,200 hectares, will be private land and 372 hectares forest land.
