Cattlegrazers said they have found 18 sheep missing after returning home.
Nellore: Forest officials have asked their field-level staff to examine complaints of eight sheep being killed in the Veligonda Mallappasila forest three days back.
Cattlegrazers said they have found 18 sheep missing after returning home. On verification they found eight sheep dead in the forest. By the injuries on the necks of the dead sheep they suspect that the cattle were killed by a leopard.
Cattlegrazers told that they have noticed pugmarks of a leopard in the area where the cattle was found dead. The attack created panic among the villagers.
Giddalur divisional forest officer G. Satish said they came to know about the attack through newspaper clippings and they have asked their forest beat officers to inspect the area.
