Thomas Chandy approaches Kerala High Court against VACB
The court issued notices to the vigilance and the complainant.
Kochi: Former minister Thomas Chandy approached the High Court on Thursday to quash the order of the Kottayam vigilance court for a quick verification on the complaint that a road to his Lake Palace Resort in Alappuzha was constructed after encroaching backwaters. The court issued notices to the vigilance and the complainant.
The petition stated that the order was not according to the procedures and road construction on government orders had court's permission. The vigilance court has issued the order on a petition filed by Subhash of Alappuzha alleging that 2.5 acres of wetland was filled up and the local area development fund of the MPs misused for the purpose.
