Hyderabad: A Class X student of a Government High School in Saidabad committed suicide by consuming poison at her residence on Wednesday.
The deceased, Syed Neha, 16, was studying at Kurmaguda Government High School and was residing in Singareni Colony of Saidabad, said police inspector Saidabad, K. Sataiah.
On Wednesday, she returned home at 6.30 pm after attending special classes, which are being conducted by the school for the class X students, her parents said.
“On reaching home, she went to the wash room and did not come out. When I pushed the door to check, she was lying unconscious after consuming an unknown poison,” said the father of the victim.
Neha was rushed to a nearby private hospital. She was later shifted to Osmania General Hospital, where she died.
Based on a complaint from her parents, a case was booked under section 174 (suspicious death) of the CrPC and an investigation was started.
“We are yet to identify the reason behind her decision to end life. Even her parents are shocked and clueless about her sudden death. We will be investigating all the angles,” said police officials.
The police is investigating to assess whether the school management was involved behind her sudden decision to end her life.
