Bharathiar University: 3 member panel to take up VC’s duties

COIMBATORE: A meeting of the Bharathiar University (BU) syndicate was held on Thursday and a three- member convener committee was formed to take over duties of the university in the place of the suspended vice-chancellor, Prof A Ganapathy. 

“Mr. Sunil Paliwal, principal secretary to the government, Dr Thirunauvkarasu, assistant professor serving at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science and Dr N. Jeyakumar, professor and head, department of Bio-Informatics BU are part of the committee,” Dr M. Ilanchelain, president, Bharathiar University SC/ ST Teachers’ and Staff Welfare Association said. 

 

Members of the association made an appeal to the government to consider not including BU syndicate members (as part of convener committee) who were involved in the appointment of over 70 candidates in 2016. Association head told the DC that their appeal was heeded to.
