Rs 3. 5 crore paid to CM, says Biju Radhakrishnan

Mr Radhakrishnan also circulated a letter for the media stating that his life was in danger.

KOZHIKODE: Solar scam prime accused Biju Radhakrishnan on Monday alleged that he had handed over Rs 3.5 crore to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at his residence in Puthuppally and Ramanilayam guest house in Thrissur in two instalments.

Mr Radhakrishnan submitted a criminal miscellaneous petition before judicial first class magistrate, Kozhikode, seeking action against Mr Chandy and power minister Aryadan Muhammed on the basis of the revelations made by second accused Saritha S. Nair to the solar commission.

The petition will be considered on February 22, said Mr Radhakrishnan’s advocate E. Pradeep Kumar. Mr Radhakrishnan said in his petition that Ms Nair’s revelations before the commission should be considered as ‘extra judicial confession’ and that action should be taken against the CM and the Power Minister in a Rs 42-lakh cheating case filed by Abdul Majeed in the same court.

Ms Nair had stated before the commission that money was handed over to both of them and Biju said that a re-investigation should be carried out on the basis of that.

Mr Radhakrishnan also circulated a letter for the media stating that his life was in danger.

He alleged that a special branch officer had leaked the information regarding the CD search in Coimbatore and based on it Saritha and the police removed the CDs before the commission officials reached the spot. The same letter will be sent to the solar commission on Tuesday, said Mr Pradeep. Biju denied that he was bribed by the leaders of the LDF and expressed the hope that the LDF would come back to power with over 100 seats.
