Rahul, Reshmi move Kerala High Court

Couple accused of creating website and uploading porn pictures of minor children.

Kochi: Rahul Pashupalan and his partner Reshmi R. Nair, accused in an online sex racket case, moved the Kerala High Court on Monday for bail claiming that the police cooked up a false story.

The two argued that they were falsely implicated in the crime registered by Cyber Police Station, Thiruvananthapuram.

“We actively participated in several public events which irked many and those who are against (it) are behind the registration of the false crime,” they submitted.

They were booked under 366 A (procuration of a minor girl), 370(1) (exploitation of a trafficked person), 120 B (criminal conspiracy), Sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) 2012 and IT Act.

The prosecution case is that they created a website and uploaded pornographic pictures of minor children with obscene and sexual comments and circulated them through social media. They had also engaged girls from places even outside Kerala.

The allegation is that on questioning the first accused he had stated that she and her husband, the third accused, was assisting them in committing the above crime. Both argued that she was innocent, and she had nothing to do with the alleged incident.

The Sessions Judge, Thiruvananthapuram, had dismissed their bail plea earlier.
The HC will consider the petition on February 15.
