The Kurnool District Sessions Court on Monday ordered seizure of the Collector's car to pay compensation for road accident victims.
Nineteen persons were killed at Srisailam in 1993 in a mishap. Families of 16 victims got compensation while three families were denied by the authorities.
ANANTAPUR: The Kurnool District Sessions Court on Monday ordered seizure of the Collector’s car to pay compensation for road accident victims. Nineteen persons were killed at Srisailam in 1993 in a mishap. Families of 16 victims got compensation while three families were denied by the authorities. The family members of Pushpalatha, Guruvayamma and Aseervadamma approached the court and and sought compensation on the lines given to other families of other victims. A total of Rs 7.40 lakh was to be paid to the three families. District Sessions Court Judge Seshu Babu issued orders to seize the Collector’s car in order to pay the amount.
