Anil Kumar Singhal directed officials concerned to come out with an action plan to identify pilgrim-crowd places in Tirupati.

TIRUPATI: TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal directed officials concerned to come out with an action plan to identify pilgrim-crowd places in Tirupati where they would set up Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) counters. During a review meeting with senior officers at the conference hall in TTD administrative building in Tirupati on Monday, the EO said that the railway station and bus stand in Tirupati were abuzz with pilgrim activities.

He asked the engineering officials to identify more such places to speed up the plan for setting up SSD in the temple city. He said the working hours for the SSD counters to be set up in Tirupati should be based on the peak time of arrivals of the pilgrims. “The IT wing should get ready with necessary software and hardware required for this purpose,” he said.

The EO instructed Tirumala JEO K.S. Sreenivasa Raju to study the releasing of VQC compartments thoroughly to ensure measures that there will not be any jostling among pilgrims. He instructed the engineering wing to assess as soon as possible the requirement of information display boards at vital points in Tirumala. The EO instructed Tirupati JEO Sri P. Bhaskar to ensure more qualitative services for the pilgrims by the call centre staffs.

He directed him to commence the on-line booking of TTD Kalyanamandapams from this month starting with Chittoor district. On the vigilance front, the EO instructed the CVSO A. Ravikrishna and officials concerned to speed up the setting up of advanced CC cameras at all important information centres of TTD across the country, Kalyana Vedika, Annaprasada Bhavan in Tirumala.

The EO instructed the forest officials to bring rare flowering plants from Kadiyam nursery of Rajamundry for beautification of Tirumala. On refund for pilgrim cottages, the EO said at present TTD is refunding 50 per cent of the amount to pilgrims who vacate the rooms within 12 hours. He directed FACAO Balaji, to ensure that the payment by the pilgrims goes directly into their bank accounts if they have Aadhaar card and also find out the way on how to refund the amount for those who do not have Aadhaar.
