Let NIA probe Deepak Rao murder: B S Yeddyurappa
BENGALURU: Intensifying their attack against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for failing to provide protection to workers of BJP and RSS, leaders of the state unit of BJP staged a dharna demanding a probe by the NIA into the murder of Deepak Rao at Surathkal, here on Monday.
State BJP president B.S. Yeddyurappa and other leaders staged a dharna in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue, alleging that the Chief Minister had resorted to appeasement politics, and ignored the safety of Hindus..
Addressing party workers, Mr. Yeddyurappa said due to appeasement politics pursued by the Chief Minister, the number of communal incidents has increased in the recent past. During last four years, 24 BJP and RSS workers were murdered, but the state government did not taken any action against the accused. Due to lack of co-ordination between home minister and Chief Minister, the law and order has collapsed, Mr. Yeddyurappa alleged. “It started with killing of Kuttappa in Kodagu. We have been repeatedly demanding NIA probe into killing of RSS and BJP workers, but the government did not bother to hear our grievances”, he added.
Udupi- Chikkamgaluru MP, Shobha Karandlaje said "Our fight is against those involved in Love Jihad and not against Muslims. We are demanding a ban on PFI, KFD and SDPI. These fundamental Muslim organizations have been instigating riots in coastal districts", she alleged.
She said the Chief Minister has withdrawn cases against these fundamental Muslim organizations after he came to power, and soon after withdrawal of the cases against these organizations, communal unrest has been triggered in the districts.
Former deputy chief minister R. Ashok, and former ministers C.T. Ravi, Suresh Kumar, and Aravinda Limbavali were present at the protest.
