400 tribals from Araku join YSR Congress

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy continued his Praja Sankalpa Yatra in Puthalapattu constituency in Chittoor district.

TIRUPATI: YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy continued his Praja Sankalpa Yatra in Puthalapattu constituency in Chittoor district on the 56th day on Monday. More than 400 tribals from Araku valley constituency, Vishakapatnam, came down to join and to extend their support to Jagan during his padayatra at Thimmireddypalli village in Puthalapattu constituency. They formally joined YSRC in the presence of its chief.

Araku Assembly constituency convenor Kumba Ravi Babu said, “Out of 400 tribals who joined YSRC today, 62 are sarpanches, 26 are MPTC and 45 are former sarpanches. They used to be supporters of Telugu Desam but are fed up with the poor governance of the party.” Jagan welcomed them and assured them that he would work tirelessly for the upliftment of the tribals in the state.

Later, the YSRC chief addressed a public meeting in Puthalapattu. More than 15,000 people attended the public meeting. Addressing the gathering, Jagan said, “Mr Chandrababu Naidu should notice that the Janma Bhoomi committees are playing with public’s emotions. There are many job opportunities in Chittoor district. Mr Naidu has raised the royalty on granite along with power charges. The Handriniva works are still pending, as YSR managed to complete 90 per cent of the works, the state government has failed to dig even one canal.”
