Kakinada: Puducherry Governor Ms. Kiran Bedi has called upon the people to make Yanam one of the most ideal constituency in Puducherry State in Swachch Bharat aspects by March.
Participating as a chief guest in valedictory function of the People’s Celebrations (Praja Utsvavalu) and Flower Exhibition at Yanam, she said the Central government was paying attention on Swachch Bharat and digitalisation for the development of the nation.
She said Yanam people should inculcate these two aspects and implement it.
The Governor said people should not encourage open defecation at any cost.
The Puducherry government was facing revenue deficit problem as the previous governments made unnecessary appointments and those employees were being given salaries though there were no work, she alleged.
Yanam MLA and Medical and Health Minister for Puducherry Mr Malladi Krishna Rao requested the government to provide a college, especially for fishermen community.
She said there was no possibility for setting a college exclusive for fishermen, however, special training classes would be introduced in the present colleges for the benefit of the fishermen community.
