Disha rape and murder case: Death case registered after NHRC team’s intervention
Hyderabad: Following orders by the National Human Rights Commission, Cyberabad police have registered a case into the alleged exchange of fire on outskirts of Chattanpally village in which the four accused in Disha rape and murder case were killed.
An additional SP of the Rachakonda police commissionerate has been appointed as the investigating officer.
Following a complaint by ACP V. Surender, Cyberabad police registered the case on charges of attempt to murder, custodial death and Arms Act into the exchange of fire under Shadnagar police station limits.
Cyberabad police commissioner V. C. Sajjanar said, “As per NHRC guidelines, Rachakonda Special Operations Team Additional DCP J. Surender Reddy has been appointed as the investigation officer to probe the exchange of fire at Chattanpally.”
Meanwhile, on Saturday, the clues teams, along with bomb disposal squads, searched the scene, where Mohammed alias Areef, J. Shiva, J. Naveen, and C. Chennakeshavulu were found killed. The teams used deep search metal detectors to locate empty shells that fell at the crime scene.
It is stated that a few shells have been recovered. It is learnt that about 11 bullet injuries have been observed on bodies of the four deceased.
Around 20 rounds were fired during the alleged exchange of fire between the accused and the police party on Friday.
Sources said, “A total of 11 bullet injuries have been identified on the bodies of the deceased.”
