Bengaluru: The First ACMM court on Friday remanded realtor Mirle Varadaraj to 10 days of police custody. Mirle was arrested by the CCB on Thursday on charges of land grab, after threatening the owners.
Mirle was arrested after over 80 complaints of land grabbing were filed against him. Mirle had allegedly grabbed land from poor people and fabricated the land papers and sold the same to others.
A native of K.R. Nagar, Mirle resided in Kengeri and lent money on interest to rowdies. Besides grabbing land, Mirle cheated people by allegedly showing them empty plots, belonging to other people or the government and took money from them.
When the buyers confronted him, he used to send rowdies to threaten them.
It is learnt that police have received property documents worth over Rs 500 crore from his house and are investigating further....
