Bengaluru: IISc blast victim's kin get Rs 10 lakh
The blast took place in the Hypersonic and Shockwave Research laboratory of the institute on Wednesday afternoon.
Bengaluru: The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) on Friday announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to kin of Manoj P, who died after a suspected cylinder blast in a laboratory on Wednesday.
In its statement IISc said, “On pure humanitarian grounds Institute releases an ex gratia compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the wife of the deceased. A team from the Institute headed by the Director, visited the three injured under treatment at M.S. Ramaiah Hospital.
“The Director has assured the relatives of the injured that the Institute will cover the medical expenses of them.”
The blast took place in the Hypersonic and Shockwave Research laboratory of the institute on Wednesday afternoon. It completely damaged all the equipment in the laboratory.
